It is important that all our members are kept up to date and are able to access all resources. We rely on you to share the information below with your members.

Dear Member Representatives,

We are heading towards the end of 2021, another year which presented many challenges in our everyday practice and our work as a community. Despite the difficulties we continued to move forward in our effort to raise standards for our patients. The past year again proved that our community is strong and supportive and difficult times are not an obstacle to advancing our mission. We would like to thank all of you for your support and wish you a bright new year!

The WSAVA Community Congress was a great success!

With 1317 participants from more than 80 countries, WSAVA 2021 proved that the online format can be equally engaging as the live congress allowing veterinarians who otherwise may have not been able to participate to become part of this unique experience.

WSAVA 2021 focused on the work of the WSAVA committees, guidelines groups, partners and community around the world. It proved that together, as one global veterinary community, we can work towards unified standards of care and a global voice, aimed at advancing the health and welfare of companion animals worldwide.

Participants can continue to enrich their knowledge as access to the online platform is available until February 15, 2022.

Regional Members' Forum and General Assembly

The WSAVA Regional Members' Forums held on October 30, 2021 were well-attended with much participation and discussion. Over 60 member representatives joined the four sessions to understand about the Assembly process, engage in a discussion about the membership task force proposal and learn about the materials prepared for them, among which was the WSAVA branding manual.

Thank you to those who joined these vital sessions!

WSAVA would also like to thank all of you who submitted your votes during the virtual Assembly. This year the Assembly had to be online again, however, we are happy that we managed to make this Assembly Meeting as successful as the one from last year - 172 votes were cast from a total voting capacity of the Assembly at 238 votes.

Resources from The WSAVA Oncology Working Group

The newly formed WSAVA Oncology Working Group (WOW) has been busy preparing a number of useful tools and resources including an Oncology Survey, a Glossary of Oncology terms and also developing article summaries in collaboration with the Journal of Small Animal Practice (JSAP). WOW gratefully acknowledges the support of JSAP in making this collection of oncology articles freely available to veterinarians as one step to further WOW’s mission to help overcome the asymmetric degrees of regional veterinary oncology development, resource limitations (both financial and human), and active communication (based on both language and cultural nuances).
